If you are caught in a circle of successful login messages and access denied messages your browser is not accepting cookies from the Brief and Information Bank web server. You can adjust the security setting in IE 6/7 to allow it to accept cookies to the reference center site without affecting the setting for other sites. Instructions for doing so are:

  1. In Internet Explorer (IE) select Tools>Internet Options

  2. Click on the Privacy tab at the top of the page

  3. Click on the Sites button to open the Per Site Privacy Action dialog box.

[NOTE: In early versions of Internet Explorer 6 this is accessed through in the Web Sites section at the bottom of the box. If you have a Web Sites section (and no Popup Blocker section) click on the Edit button in that section to open the Per Site Privacy Action dialog box.]

  4. In the Address of Web site box type: 75.147.124.92 and click on the Allow button. This number should now appear in the Managed Web site list with the setting Always Allow.

  5. Click OK to exit that box and OK again to exit the Internet Options box.

Your browser is now set up to allow access to the Reference Center site. This change is limited to the Reference Center site only. Your settings for other internet sites remain unchanged. You may have to close IE and reopen it, or restart your system, for the change in settings to take effect - depending on the overall configuration of your computer.
